Gopher/Mole Control
We all like having fun in the garden. There are pests though that are such a kill joy. We are lucky nowadays that we have developed a technology that will not harm us people, particularly the old and little ones, and other creatures that do not pose a threat at all to our garden or to humans. Unlike before when we used traps, chemicals or pesticides, today, we have electronic yard fences, ultrasonic devices, and strobe lights that can do the job in eliminating the pests in the yard.
These devices will help you eliminate unwelcome guests. Gophers, moles, squirrels, deer, cats, dogs and other animals that are not welcome will stay away and your conscience is clean because you haven’t hurt anyone at all. The animal’s ears will hurt once they hear the high frequency sound or vibration from these ultrasonic gadgets and when that happens, they will retreat. This girl friend of mine doesn’t like the squirrels in her backyard, or squirrels at all. They did damage not only to her plants, but to her house as well and ate her canvas chairs on the deck. The ultrasonic device that she acquired and used was very effective! How are they now? Well, my friend is now enjoying the garden without the troubles and the squirrels, they’re still out there rummaging somebody else’s garden I think.
Gophers and moles can do significant damage to your yard, shrubberies and plants. Your lawn will be ruined with all the bumps on the surface. It’s even dangerous to walk about because you might stumble or sprain your ankle. These burrowing rodents spend most of their time underground digging tunnels in your beautiful yard and tunneling ventilation shafts so they can have fresh air in their underground homes. They can dig burrows to a length of quite a few miles with a depth ranging from two to five feet. They are born to dig and will have up to 12 babies per litter. What they eat, they automatically convert it to energy so their bodies do not stock up fat and that is why they do not hide away and sleep. The mole eats approximately 40 pounds of food every year. It’s their way of life -dig, eat, dig eat. Moles will eat worms, worms that aerate the soil, necessary for beautiful plants and a healthy growing environment. Gophers eat roots and plant material.
The moles do roundabouts when making above the ground tunnels while gophers do it in line form but it’s not quite often you see above the ground tunnels made by gophers. If a gopher’s mound looks like a kidney bean, a mole’s mound looks like a tiny cone that is upside down. These tiny rodents live beneath the ground on healthy, verdant lawns. Root of trees, grains, grasses, shrubs and vegetables in diversity are what moles and gophers usually eat on. They mostly like to eat lilies, irises, tulips, carrots, peas and beans. Even though moles feed mostly on grubs, worms and insects, they also feed on plant materials. However, gophers like it better if the plant material is tender. Gophers, moles, voles, chipmunks, and woodchucks are very intelligent animals. These creatures are notorious in their elusion from our old ways of pest control such as traps, baits and poisons.
You don’t have to wonder on who the culprit is that destroyed your garden. If you see mounds and tunnels, then you have a gopher or mole in your midst. I advocate life. I do not kill. The spiders at home, I transfer them outside, the snakes in the garden, I put them near the lake (Yes I know, I am one of THOSE persons.) Since I don’t advocate killing, try the ultrasonic device in the market. It’s a much safer alternative.
Are you pondering about buying a vibrasonic mole chaser? If so, then I suggest you head over to Safe Home Products. There you’ll come across pretty much any vibrasonic mole chaser obtainable. Get Rid of those moles once and for all.
